Our Program

To date, OTC South Pacific has focused heavily on delivering high quality educational programs.

OTC South Pacific chapter include four types of 2 day “Advanced Fracture Management” cadaveric courses for advanced registrars, focusing on complex fractures of the knee; pelvic/acetabulum; upper limb fracture management and foot & ankle fractures respectively. These courses are dynamic, with a mixture of lectures, case discussions and workshops and a low student to instructor ratio of 4:1.

We now have three courses covering Upper Limb, Lower Limb & Hip Dissection for Pre-Set, SET 1-2 registrars. These have proved highly popular and successful, resulting in plans to run these on an alternating regular basis in future. In 2018 a new interactive Polytrauma Course was launched, targetted mainly Set 2-5 registrars, covering pre-hospital management, resuscitation, initial management, interventional radiology; pelvic binders; external fixation and management strategies for open fractures of the poly-traumatised patient..

Due to the success and exceptional demand for the Masters Pelvis & Acetabular Course in 2014 & 2015, OTC South Pacific developed and ran a new Masters Hip course in April 2016 and August 2019. These courses are targetted to SET 5 & consultants and involve X Ray and fracture fixation techniques. For more information on future courses, refer to our Courses page.

Since 2010 OTC South Pacific has been involved in the development of educational videos linked to our Courses. We now provide access to recordings of formal lectures for all delegates of 2-day courses as part of the registration fee.
